Blue Lagoon Beach Resort – Our Story

Flick through your old Polaroids, and you’ll find family holiday memories featuring the sandy shores of Blue Lagoon for over 60 years. Yes, think caravans with curtains, long beach days, and dad and his mullet manning the barbie. This simple sun soaked magic is what made the affordable family getaway unforgettable back then, and it’s what we’ve tried to reimagine today.

Proudly independent, our family focused resort now shares the natural beauty of the Central Coast with locals and visitors alike. As one of the only absolute beachfront holiday parks in NSW, plus backed by the stunning Wyrrabalong National Park, we offer families rare and safe access to both beach and bush on Darkingjung Country.

Originally known as Blue Lagoon Trailer Court, it was local pharmacist Michael Kelaher, who had the vision to purchase the then simple campground back in 1989. Fast forward to 2015, and Michael’s daughter Liz, along with her husband Ian, took over the reins. Under their guidance, it’s grown into a thriving resort that welcomes guests from all walks of life to this very special spot on the coast.

Some families have been returning for over 50 years. We’ve even named streets in our park after them! As one of our longtime guests told the Gosford Express Advocate, “For us it’s all about family, and this place is perfect.”

We’ve always aimed to make holidays accessible for every family, no matter what their budget or background. That’s why we offer everything from powered tent and caravan sites, to studio cabins, all the way up to luxury 3 bedroom beachfront cabins.
