We are just so super-stoked to announce that we’ve just added another win under our belt! Last week we were thrilled to be named the Most Outstanding Family Holiday Destination on the Central Coast at the brand-new Central Coast Visitor Economy Awards!

This win feels extra special to us because it wasn’t just about filling in an application and waiting for a result. As part of the awards program, Amy and I (the two lucky gals tasked with driving this win home!) were lucky enough to take part in a six-week professional development journey, organised by Business NSW.

Over those weeks we joined masterclasses with industry experts covering everything from marketing and promotions, to content creation, and even public speaking coaching! It all came together at a Regional Showcase Day, where each finalist got up on stage to present in front of peers, industry leaders, and a judging panel of industry experts. Nerve-wracking? Definitely. But also such a rewarding experience.

The whole program built up to a huge gala night on 12 September 2025 at Mingara Recreation Club, where the Visitor Economy Awards were celebrated alongside the NSW Business Awards. The room was buzzing, and the event was hosted by Matty and Gina from Star 104.5FM, who brought so much energy to the night. That’s when our name was called, and suddenly we were on stage accepting the award for Most Outstanding Family Holiday Destination!

We couldn’t be prouder. Blue Lagoon has been welcoming families to Bateau Bay for over 60 years, and this award feels like recognition not just of our work, but of the generations of families who’ve made memories here. It’s about the beauty of the Central Coast, the partnerships with local businesses we’re lucky to have, and the sense of community that keeps guests coming back year after year.

We’re so grateful for this experience – both the award itself, and the learning journey that got us here. And of course, we couldn’t have done it without our amazing guests, community, and team who make Blue Lagoon such a special place.
