After a big day at the beach, splashing in the pool or exploring the Central Coast, the last thing you want to do is spend ages deciding where to have dinner.
Lucky for you, our team has done the hard work! Whether you’re after a relaxed family dinner, somewhere the kids can burn off some extra energy, or an easy takeaway to enjoy back at the resort, here are our favourite local picks.
Bateau Bay Bowling Club
Just a 10-minute walk or 2-minute drive from Blue Lagoon
This one’s a favourite with both our guests and staff.
Bateau Bay Bowling Club offers a relaxed family-friendly bistro with an Asian-inspired twist, plus an indoor enclosed play area to keep the kids entertained while dinner arrives.
Even better, don’t forget to grab a temporary members card from Reception before you go. Guests of Blue Lagoon receive approximately 20% off food and beverages, making it fantastic value for families.
If your children are out of car seats, you can also book the club’s courtesy bus, which will pick you up from Reception and drop you back afterwards – perfect if you don’t feel like the 10-minute walk.
Bateau Bay Hotel
Only a few minutes’ drive away
Recently refurbished and hugely popular with local families, the Bateau Bay Hotel really does have something for everyone.
Inside you’ll find a modern family bistro, sports bar, outdoor dining areas and one of the best undercover kids’ playgrounds on the Central Coast. It’s the kind of place where the kids stay entertained while the adults can actually enjoy a meal.
Weekends can get busy (for good reason!), so it’s worth arriving a little earlier if you can.
Diggers at The Entrance
Just 5-10 minutes from the resort
If you’re heading towards The Entrance, Diggers is another fantastic family option that’s recently had a major makeover.
Kids will absolutely love the huge indoor jungle-themed playground, while adults can relax with beautiful sunset views overlooking Tuggerah Lake.
They’ve even added a pickleball court, making it a fun destination before or after dinner.
The Salty Cod

Sometimes the best holiday dinners don’t involve sitting in a restaurant.
Grab some takeaway from The Salty Cod, then head back to your cabin or campsite and enjoy dinner with the beach just moments away.
A favourite with locals, The Salty Cod is known for serving up fresh seafood alongside creative specials like Cajun Prawn Popcorn and Teriyaki Salmon Skewers. Of course, you can’t go past their classic fish and chips – because nothing says an Australian beach holiday quite like fish and chips by the ocean!
3 Peppers Pizza
Also at Bateau Bay Shopping Village
Some places have been around forever because they simply get it right.
3 Peppers Pizza is one of those local institutions.
They have a handful of dine-in tables, but takeaway is where they really shine. Grab a few pizzas, head back to Blue Lagoon and enjoy a family pizza night from the comfort of your cabin, villa or campsite.
